Groundhog Lied

Those of us in the Midwest are bracing for a Spring Snowstorm.

Apparently, Punxsutawney Phil has a penchant for lying.

GROUNDHOG LIED

We’re supposed to get 6-10 inches.

The phrase, “Liar, liar, pants on fire,” comes to mind.

Of course, that would keep the little varmint warm, while the rest of us freeze, now wouldn’t it? The LA Times reports that out east, one Butler County Prosecutor, Mike Gmoser, filed an indictment calling for the death of the erroneous forecaster, saying he “purposely, and with prior calculation and design, caused the people to believe that Spring would come early.”  I don’t think his crime deserves the death penalty, but I do wish you’d stay in your hole, Phil.  Just stay in your hole.

How’s the weather your way?

Build-A-Bear

We recently visited a local Build-A-Bear Workshop and let the kids each select an animal to stuff.  Mister wasted no time and immediately chose this adorable black bear to stuff. I thought Sister would make a bee line for the Hello Kitty stuff, but she didn’t.  She didn’t choose a kitty or a bear!

Build a Bear Cookie

He named it Cookie, because Daddy suggested it (because Daddy wanted some cookies at the moment).   He’s had it for over a month and still sleeps with it every night. Un-bear-ably cute.

I can’t wait to go back!

What have your kids built at the Build-A-Bear Workshop?

***We paid for our own Build-A-Bear products, but those are affiliate links Open-mouthed smile***

Too Much Red

Hubs and I decided to stop by the St. Louis Outlet Mall on our way home from rug shopping.  As we walked around the mall, I saw a new shop that had TONS of wigs in it, and this one was in their window…

red and black wig

I had to try it on, it was so cute.

Too Much Red

Too much red, right?

It was cuter on her, anyway.

I did like the cut of it, though.  If they’d had it in all black, I might have considered buying it.

Run to the Well

This morning I was reading Genesis 24 during my devotional time.  I’ve read it many times before, but this morning verses 18-20 just jumped out at me.  Do you know how much water ten camels can drink?  Up to 40 buckets.

Forty.

Rebekah was not only willing to serve, she ran back to the well.

run to the well

Not only did she run to the well, she kept pulling buckets until all of the camels had finished drinking.

I don’t know why I’ve always thought it’d be like watering a dog.

It wasn’t.

It was forty buckets of water worth of willing to serve.

That is the faithful servant’s heart that I aspire to.

Speaking of aspirations… As you  may have noticed, I haven’t been posting nearly as much lately.  I am currently studying for my pastoral license.  It’s a lot of work, as it should be.  Between that, homeschooling the kidlets, the holiday season, and life in general, things have been really busy around here.  Now that the new year is upon us, I am hopeful that time will allow me to post more frequently.

In the meantime, I run to the well.
