I have long been a fan of Rebecca St. James. I have always loved her music, as well as her beautiful voice. So, of course, I agreed to review her latest CD, I Will Praise You, which was just released.

I Will Praise You is Rebecca St. James first studio project since 2005! With a voice like hers, I wish she would come out with a new one every year!

The first three tracks of this CD have an upbeat tempo, and will make you tap your foot, although I do have to say that her version of You Never Let Go is not my favorite. It is a little slower than I prefer, but beautifully sang. My favorite track on the I Will Praise You CD is the title track, I Will Praise You, although In A Moment is just a hair’s breadth behind it.

All in all, this album is as personal as it worshipful, and makes you feel as if you have been invited into her own living room for a night of worship. It is contemplative and moving. It is Rebecca St. James at her best. And I love it… I will be adding several of the songs to my playlist!

Sid’s Sing Along DVD Review plus #giveaway

Mister loves Sid the Science Kid. So, anytime I get a chance to review a Sid DVD, I agree.

Synopsis: Sid wonders what he could possibly do on his day off from school. But when all of his friends come over for a play date, they quickly put their science minds together and decide to put on a show in the backyard! They each take turns rocking out as they sing their favorite science songs for a very appreciative audience of Mom, Dad, and Zeke!

Street Date – 2/22/2011

Run Time – 60 minutes

I knew before the DVD even came in that it would be a hit. I mean, it has two of Mister’s favorites- Sid and singing. Can’t go wrong there, now can I?

I didn’t realize that the play date episode (one of two episodes) would spark a conversation.

“Where are they at, Mommy?”

“They are at Sid’s house.”

“Oh, I didn’t know that Sid doesn’t stay at school.”

Which led to talking about where people live versus where they work, go to school, or go to church.

Of course, we had to dance to the music, which was upbeat, fun, and easy to understand.

Now, if I could just get Sister to like Sid as much as she likes Angelina Ballerina, I would have it made!
