Fantastic Father’s Day Finds: muvee Reveal

Anyone that knows me knows that I am not tech savvy. That would be why I married an engineer. He is my tech savvy. There are times, though, that I want to be able to do something tech savvy without my hubby’s help. So, when I had the opportunity to review the new MuVee Reveal for my Fantastic Father’s Day Finds guide, I jumped on it happily accepted it.

Home movies don’t make themselves. Until now. muvee Reveal lets you create and share personalized, professional looking home movies in a few quick steps. With automatic motion and face detection, your photos and video are synced to the beat of your favorite music. Tell your story the way you want to through advanced personalization features including captions, voiceover and music trimming. Post to YouTube, Facebook or burn to DVD – the sharing possibilities are endless. Home movie making has never been so easy.

I know that many are not so luck to have an tech geek for a husband, and would love to be able to make home movies themselves.

About the product…

What I thought…

I thought that muvee Reveal was incredibly easy to use. You can add photos through the add file button in the menu, or you can drag and drop. It is easy to reorder photos and change styles.

I chose to do a video of some of my wedding photos. The only problem I ran into is that I have too many photos to choose from (over 700 in digital format, and that is not including the ones that were taken with point and shoot cameras).

The program even let me know when I had added too many photos for the song I chose! Now, that is what I call dummy proof.

I liked the fact that I could customize the title and credits. You can even combine muvees, although I haven’t ventured that far into my tech freedom.

What I would change…

I don’t think I would change anything about the program itself. The themes available are nice, but it would be great to have even more.

Oh. I’m supposed to be shopping for him, I thought. So, I moved on. But not before I added that leather bracelet to my wish list!

I thought I may have more luck shopping for a Father’s Day gift in Home Decor, as Brian is not much of a jewelry kind of guy.

But knowing my husband, and his practical nature, I thought to shop more.

About the product…

I finally settled on this parachute cabinet, ‘Ruby Camper,’ since we are hoping to start camping soon.

So, I placed my order.

What I thought…

In short order the package arrived, beautifully wrapped (I almost hated to unwrap it) and included artisan story card, that told more about Charly, my Novica artist. .

The Ruby Camper zips closed into a compact little package. Unfolded, it is quite impressive. Made of the same sturdy fabric used for parachutes, it has four shelves, six exterior pockets, and a stainless steel hanger. It is well made, the seams are all even, and the zipper functions properly. This parachute cabinet is going to come in real handy when we start camping.

What I would change…

The Ruby Camper is very nice. The only thing I would change would be to offer it in more color options. Perhaps in Emerald (green) or Sapphire (blue) and Onyx (black).

Fantastic Father’s Day Finds: Bake Me A Wish

I can’t tell you how excited I was when I was offered the opportunity to include Bake Me a Wish in my Fantastic Father’s Day Finds reviews and giveaways promotions.

I have been looking for a good excuse to try one of these cakes after having read several great reviews on other blogs. The only twist was that the offer was part of their “Cake in the Face” promotion. Yup. I had to ambush my hubby. I immediately agreed.

Bake Me A Wish cakes come in over 20 flavors and they can be shipped overnight to any place in the USA. If the mouthwatering chocolate and scrumptiously moist cake weren’t good enough reasons to send them to Dad, the company also gives 5% off all proceeds to send birthday cakes to soldiers overseas. Now that’s something that Dads can really feel good about.

About the product…

Tiramisu Classico Cake

I chose to get the Tiramisu Classico Cake, which is coffee-washed cake layered with classic mascarpone custard and garnished with delicious coffee whipped cream, dark chocolate shaves and a dusting of cocoa. I could have gotten the Vanilla or the Carrot Cake, but the Tiramisu won out.

What I thought…

Anyone who knows me knows that I love coffee anything, and Tiramisu cake ranks at the top of my list. Tiramisu and Mocha are about the only two ways I can share my love of coffee with my husband. The Tiramisu Classico Cake from Bake Me a Wish was absolutely awesome. While the cake wasn’t quite as pretty as the picture when I opened it (courtesy of a heat wave and the delivery driver setting the box upside down), it was absolutely delicious.

I told my husband that the cake was for a review when it arrived. As it would happen, my Aunt Karyn and Uncle Larry called to say they were going to be in the neighborhood, and I asked them to stay for dinner. I let them in on my little secret. Then, after OVER ANALYZING IT and thinking “Man, I didn’t even shove cake in his face at our wedding…” I asked my Uncle Larry to be the bad guy. LOL.

Fortunately, my husband was a good sport, and Larry didn’t get cake ALL over the place.

What I would change…

I wouldn’t really change anything, even though the top of our cake was a little unpretty. It was still delicious, and in the end, that is what matters.
