Boon Potty Seat from EcoMom

What do you do when you have two toddlers who want to potty simultaneously?  Get a potty seat, of course!

We recently received the Boon Potty Bench from EcoMom for review.

When I took the Boon Potty Bench out of the box, Mister insisted on checking it over.

And sitting on it to make sure it fit.

He did let Sister sit on it for a minute.

But, once I moved it to the bathroom, he claimed it as his own, and said she had to sit on the other potty (the toilet).

I decided that giving him a roll of toilet paper in the storage compartment was perhaps NOT the best idea at this time.

About the Boon Potty Bench…

Training Toilet with Side Storage
The Potty Bench is a training potty featuring two enclosed side storage spaces for organizing potty training supplies, and a pull-out drawer for easy sanitary clean-up. Simply close the lid to use as a large, sturdy stool that supports up to 300 lbs. The sleek, modern design includes a built-in toilet paper holder and a removable soft deflector shield.
* Organizes potty training supplies
* Simplifies clean-up
* Easily converts to a bench or step stool
* Soft flexible deflector helps guard against injury
Dimensions: 19 1/2" x 12 7/8" x 7 1/8"
Recommended ages: 18+ months

The cool thing about the potty bench is the storage space on the sides.  A few “tub” books fit in the storage area nicely.  I also like the fact that with the lid down, it doubles as a bench.  I confess, I have sat on it while shampooing the kids hair in the tub, and it supported me.  I also love the little pee guard.  Comes in REAL handy when training a boy!

I certainly recommend the Boon Potty Bench to any parent embarking on the potty training path.

What is Your Love Language

lovelanguages

By far, one of my all time favorite books is The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman.  I first read The Five Love Languages in 1997, shortly after I became a Christian.  I learned SO much the first time I read it.  For the first time in my adult life, I actually felt like I understood my Dad.  My Dad was always the provider.  He worked long, hard hours to provide for the six of us kids and Mom.  And Dad is a man of few words.  From reading The Five Love Languages, I realized that Dad spoke his love for us every time he punched the time clock, every time he worked overtime, and every time he took the odd job snow plowing or repairing someone’s car.

Since 1997, I have tried to read The Five Love Languages at least once a year.  I really think that I gain fresh, new perspective into the relationships in my life each time I read it.

I was recently reminded of the book while at a Children’s Ministry Team Leader meeting, and need to get it out and read it for 2010.  I am currently reading three other books (The Family You’ve Always Wanted: Five Ways You Can Make It Happen, also by Chapman; Dr Kevin Leman’s Have a New Kid by Friday: How to Change Your Child’s Attitude, Behavior & Character in 5 Days; and Ravi Zacharias’ Beyond Opinion: Living the Faith We Defend)so it may be August before I get to start it.  August is just a few days away, though.

While at the ministry meeting, we decided it would be fun if each of us took the Love Languages quiz and then shared our results with each other, as a way to better understand each other.   I have had bookmarked an online quiz that allows you to assess your love language quickly.   I took it.  Here are my results…

My Primary Love Language is Words of Affirmation

My Detailed Results:
Words of Affirmation: 11
Quality Time: 8
Acts of Service: 6
Physical Touch: 4
Receiving Gifts: 1

I feel loved when… I am told that I am loved, or appreciated, or talented, or… Pretty much, I am a words girl.  Words will either build me up or tear me down.

Unhappiness in relationships is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. It can be helpful to know what language you speak and what language those around you speak.  How about you? Do you know your primary Love Language?

Take the Quiz!

I would love to know your results, too.  What did you think of the quiz?  Do you think the result is an accurate assessment of your love language?
