When I was a little girl, I had one of those old time hairstyling heads and would spend HOURS combing, styling, and playing with that thing. I’d braid the hair, wash the hair, comb the hair… One day, I told my brother that I wanted to grow up and be a hairstylist and own my own beauty salon. In his typical adolescent boy fashion, he responded that no one was going to let a bald chick cut their hair. Kill joy. Of course, I didn’t know then that you don’t have to cut hair to own a Supercuts franchise!
As a little girl, I mistakenly thought that owning a beauty salon was just for hairstylists. I thought you had to know how to cut hair to own a salon and that if you weren’t a hairstylist, it couldn’t be a serious business for you. These are FALSE!
Did you know that the hair care industry, unlike many other industries, is stable? It is a need based business and cannot be made technologically obsolete. When you own a Supercuts franchise, services must be performed by a licensed professional (who will stay on the cutting edge with the ongoing education they will receive from Regis Corporation), so you won’t ever be cutting hair. Instead, you will be in charge of running the business and your only objective is running your business with precision.
Owning your own Supercuts is simple. As a Supercuts franchisee, the first thing to know about running a hair care franchise is that you don’t need to know anything about hair. You don’t have a large staff, you can keep inventory costs low, and your hours can be reasonable. Plus, the Supercuts brand is widely recognized and respected, AND backed by national advertising.
Have you ever thought about owning a franchise?

I am not business minded enough to own a francise but it very interesting that you don’t need to “know hair” to own a supercuts.

I have considered looking into a franchise, but I decided that I didn’t want to go into debt to build my business, which is why I’m a financial coach and freelance writer. 🙂

This is really interesting, that never would have crossed my mind! I’ve toyed around with buying a franchise every now and then but never too seriously.. I bet it would be pretty awesome to jump in to an already established business. Thanks for sharing this!

I have thought about owning a franchise before but went down another path. I do really like the SuperCuts in my town though very reasonable prices and great staff.

If I wasn’t raising my boys on my own and I had extra time, I probably would. However if you can’t cut hair why would you want to own a business specializing in that? If a customer complained you as the owner would want to rectify the problem and make it better. I would have no idea what to do. I just like pretending to cut hair! LOL
