Squirrel Buster Plus

In 2010, I added a bird feeder to our tree outback. The cute little bird feeder bench made my day.  And the day of quite a few cardinals that have frequented our back yard in the last year and a half.  Do you see the lady cardinal in this picture? Isn’t she gorgeous?

Unfortunately, the squirrels discovered our cute little bench.  Which meant birdies went bye-bye.  Every time I turned around, there’d be a squirrel sitting just as pretty as you please in the bench.  Knocking all the seed out.  Ugh.

Since I couldn’t beat them at their own game, I decided to leave the bench for the squirrels, and add a new bird feeder for the cardinals.  I went with the Squirrel Buster Plus.  It is a 3 quart squirrel proof bird feeder that is dishwasher safe and cardinal friendly.  It has six perches and a cardinal ring and the seed ventilation system helps ensure that your seed stays healthy for your fine feathered friends.  The coolest part, though, is that it is weight adjustable for selective feeding, which means when properly adjusted, squirrels CLOSE the bird feeder when they attempt to snag some seed.

My kids loved helping me set it up, and now my fine feathered friends enjoy it without me having to worry that the squirrels are stealing all of their seed…

It’s amazing how long seed will last if there are no squirrels diving into it! One of my Mama Cardinals has returned, but she every time I try to snag a picture of her she flies away.  Either she is incredibly camera shy or she has very acute hearing. 🙂

Lest you should thing we left the squirrels high and dry, we went acorn hunting and the bench now serves as a squirrel buffet.  LOL.
