Admittedly, my two toddlers are a little young to be working on phonics.  But Mister loves guitars and I thought it would be fun to let him watch guitars and hopefully learn a little at the same time.  I also wanted to see the quality of the Rock ‘N Learn DVD’s because I have been eyeing the Getting Ready for Kindergarten and Alphabet Circus DVD’s for our video library.

Both Mister and Sister enjoy watching the DVD’s, although they typically will only watch about 15 minutes of a video before moving on to another activity.  Mister didn’t know what to think about the disembodied “on screen mouth” at first, but after I told him that it was just a close up picture so he could see how the lips move when they practice sounds, he seemed to be okay with it.  He calls the Rock ‘N Learn videos his  “guitar DVD’s” and actually asks to watch them.   The tunes on the DVD’s are catchy.  I have caught myself tapping my foot while loading the dishwasher when this one is in.  Mister’s favorite song is The Zany Rainy Bread Lady, because he thinks it has his name in it.
