Red Barn Cloth Diapers

Press Sample

Red Barn Cloth Diapers are fitted cloth diapers made by Jeni.  She is a cottage licensee of the Nifty Nappy diapers and learned to sew cloth diapers from Vitale, the designer of the Nifty Nappy diaper. She and her husband, a builder and woodworker, actually live in a red barn, hence her store name of Red Barn Cloth Diapers.

Jeni offers several Nifty Nappy designs in her online store, including the Nifty Nappy fitted diaper, Nifty Nappy AI2, Nifty Nappy Heavy Doody, Nifty Nappy Woolie Wrap, Nifty Nappy Bitty Bum, Nifty Nappy Weensy Woolies, and swim diapers.  She recently sent me a Red Barn Nifty Nappy fitted diaper for review, in the pink giraffe print.

Red Barn Nifty Nappy

Ohthecuteness!

This diaper is so cute, I can hardly stand it!

The Nifty Nappy Fitted is a one size diaper designed to fit baby’s from 7-35lbs.  The Nifty Nappy diaper is made of three layers of natural material.  The outer layer is cotton knit.  The sandwich (middle) layer is organic hemp fleece.  The inner layer is micro fleece. It does require a waterproof cover or a woolie.  It has crossover snaps on the wings, to make it easily adjustable for smaller baby’s.  The snaps go through all three layers of fabric, so they won’t pull through.  Red Barn Cloth Diaper

It also comes with a lay in insert that is made of organic hemp fleece and organic bamboo velour, which is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-microbial.  The edges of the diaper are serged.  The legs also have an inner elastic seam, making it fit trimly.

The diaper is super soft and absorbent.  While it doe require a cover if you want it to be “water proof” it can easily last 2-3 hours without one.

The fabric choices for the Red Barn Nifty Nappy cloth diapers are super cute, although they are a bit small for viewing on the site.  Check out Red Barn Cloth Diapers on Facebook to get a better view of the fabric choices available.  You may just fall in love with the fluff over there!

I looked at Red Barn Cloth Diapers’ website and their “Heavy Doody” diaper looks like something we’d be interested in. We just got a Sloomb sb’ish OBF with a wool cover for overnights, but I’m looking into buying more fitteds for nighttime. These could be what we’re looking for!

The Bitty Bum looks so perfect for a newbie!

  3. Lissa E. says:

I really like to use fitteds with wool or a PUL cover at night. The Nifty Nappy Fitted looks like it would be a great choice!

  4. Serged fitted diapers are my favorite! I’ve never tried hemp fleece, but I looove the squishy softness of organic bamboo velour. I’m slowly acquiring more diapers with OBV <3

I think the heavy doody one is cool and would like to try it.

  7. I love all the natural materials they use!

  8. Wow, these look like real quality diapers. What nice materials and workmanship. I love the natural fibers!

Her prints are super cute! I could waste hours looking at them all! I like the ooga booga one 🙂 We haven’t really tried fitteds yet, other than a few I’ve won. We don’t have a cover, so as soon as we get one of those we will try out these cuties 🙂

  10. I have not yet tried fitteds but I really would like to. And I love that giraffe print!
