Welcome to the Radical Blog Tour. Radical is the newest from author David Platt.
It’s easy for American Christians to forget how Jesus said his followers would actually live, what their new lifestyle would actually look like. They would, he said, leave behind security, money, convenience, even family for him. They would abandon everything for the gospel. They would take up their crosses daily…
But who do you know who lives like that? Do you?
Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream
Written by: David Platt
Formats: Trade Paperback and ebook
Release Date: May 4, 2010
Synopsis (courtesy of Waterbrook Multonomah wesbite)
In Radical, David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple—then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard. And he tells the dramatic story of what is happening as a “successful” suburban church decides to get serious about the gospel according to Jesus.
Finally, he urges readers to join in The Radical Experiment—a one-year journey in authentic discipleship that will transform how you live in a world that desperately needs the Good News Jesus came to bring.

I am extremely excited about this new book. I’ve only read the first chapter, and I can’t wait to read the rest.
We recently had a minister visiting from World Indigenous Missions speak at our church. He told of an instance where he was visiting a family and their cow started dieing. Because he knew that he would be blamed if the cow died, he went out to pray for it. The cow miraculously recovered and he was able to minister to the entire family because of it.
Since then, I’ve thought a lot more about being intentional about my faith.
I’m certain David Platt’s Radical will aid me in that.
