Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas

Press Sample

Christmas shines most brightIt’s time for VeggieTails! Just in time for Christmas, VeggieTales has released a new DVD, Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas.  What makes this super side dish of a DVD extra special is that it has Si Robertson, from Duck Dynasty as Silas the wise okra.  We love all VeggieTales, so of course we agreed to review it.  We learned quickly that when you add Si to the mix, you get an extra helping of fun!

Si may be a little green at being being a vegetable, but he is no seedling when it comes to telling tall tales!  Check out this behind the scenes clip with him! Hey, Jack!

I have to say, he cracks me up!

About the movie:

Larry The Cucumber is in a Christmas show as a Christmas elf at the Spring Valley Mall.  He  just wants to spread joy at the holidays. When he meets a little girl with a big heart whose only Christmas wish is to help a friend in need, “Merry Larry” sets off on adventure that will light up the holidays like never before and show the town of Spring Valley what Christmas is all about – “Christmas shines most bright and true when you give the love God gave to you!” Featuring Si Robertson as Silas the Okra!

I had to laugh (out loud) when as soon as Silas the Okra came on screen, Mister jumped up and said, “Mom!  Look, it’s Si!  Is that really Si?  Look, Sister, it’s Si, you know, from Duck Dynasty.”

My favorite line?  “He’s going to find out quicker than a cockroach that there is more than one way to shine at Christmas time.”

I loved Larry’s “I Wrapped Myself Up for Christmas” song!!  And Si singing about the merry gentleman’s undies on display?  Oh my! This DVD kept me in stiches, and I highly recommend it for all your little VeggieTales fans!

Right now, The Official VeggieTales Online Store has a site wide sale, with 40% off store wide and FREE shipping for orders over $30!  SCORE!

Grab your copy of Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas and watch it while baking cookies or trimming your tree.  Make it extra special by printing one (or all) of these coloring sheets so your kidlets can color along to the story!  Just click on the one you want, and the pdf will open in a new window.  If you have any trouble, you can also download a zip file from the VeggieTales site with all four coloring sheets.
