CARSON-DELLOSA PUBLISHING carries a host of parent and teacher resources aimed at helping kids have fun while learning important skills. Mister is getting to the age where he likes to play games. His favorite is a counting game that we do, but I thought it would be fun to introduce some Memory Games as well. Here are two from at www.carsondellosa.com that we recently added to our gaming fun.
First, the Who’s My Baby? Memory Matching game. It is fun to see which animals the kidlets can correctly match, and which ones they still need a little help with. It is also a good way to teach the terms for animal babies, such as cub, duckling, chick, etc.
Who’s My Baby? Memory Matching
Product ID: 140015
Students learn to match animals to their young, improving memory skills at various levels. Includes 36 game cards with animal photos plus a two-sided game mat. 1 to 3 players.
Both of the kids like the baby animal cards in this game.
The Elephants Never Forget has cards that are shaped like elephants, which elicits the elephant sounds from Mister and Sister whenever they see them.
Elephants Never Forget: Memory Matching
Product ID: 3110
36 cards, 1 2-sided game mat
Match photographs of foods, toys, and animals. Included are 36 durable cards, a two-sided game mat, and game directions in English and Spanish. 1 to 3 players.
The kids are good at matching the cards to each other once they are turned over, but remembering where they were if only turned one at a time is a bit more of a challenge.
The cards in the games do come on a sheet that you have to punch them out of, but they are pre-punched, so it is easy to do. We haven’t used the game mats yet, because it is just a distraction for my two kidlets.
Why not add some fun memory games to your child’s Christmas list this year? I’m glad I got these two, and am thinking of getting another one!
