If I Won a Free Mommy Makeover

Have you ever considered cosmetic surgery?  I have to tell you, IF I received a phone call telling me that I had won a free mommy makeover, I would be absolutely ECSTATIC! A Mommy Makeover is a combination of post-pregnancy plastic surgery.

As someone that has had multiple medically necessary facial reconstructive surgeries in the past, the thought of having cosmetic surgery FOR THE FUN OF IT has always intrigued me.  When I was a teenager, I wanted a nose job.  And since I’ve worn dentures from the age of ten, I would LOVE to have dental implants.  Yes, I said ten.  I was born with only six permanent teeth buds, so I never had “normal” dentition.  Dental implants would be SO nice.  At least the lower jaw.

Since having my son, my wishlist has expanded a little.

This is me, at about 32 weeks pregnant…

and here about 34 weeks…

Carrying my son is probably one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had, especially having experienced two miscarriages and having been told that I would never be able to carry a baby to term. However, pregnancy changed me and stretched me in ways I didn’t know I could be stretched.  I delivered at 36 weeks and he weighed in at a whopping 8 lb 8 ounces.  Yep, eight  and a half pounds and four weeks early.  I told the doctor that if I had gone full term, I would have delivered a toddler.  With all that stretching going on, my cosmetic wish list (*eh-hem) stretched a little to include…

  • Liposuction—well, I do have problem areas that I can’t blame on pregnancy… namely, my hips and thighs.  Had them before I got pregnant, still have them, and think I would have them if I lost another 150 pounds.  These hips and thighs aren’t going anywhere without a little help, so liposuction would be a must.
  • A Tummy Tuck—Let’s just say that after having gained a lot of weight, and being in the process of losing it, I am a little too familiar with the term “muffin top.”  Body shapers can only go so far, ya know.  I have teased my husband for months now that after I lose another 40-50 pounds, I want to have a tummy tuck.
  • Laser stretch mark removal—cuz having the atlas of the entire Northern Hemisphere embossed on my abdomen is not pretty, regardless of how my times my husband says it is.  Just saying.

Okay, you’ve seen my mommy makeover wish list…what’s on your list?  What would you have done if you won a free mommy makeover?

About Virginia

Hi there! My name is Virginia, and I am the author/owner of That Bald Chick. I am a Christian, wife, mother of three, full time homemaker, homeschooler, and ministry volunteer in addition to being a blogger. In my free time *cough* I enjoy reading, writing, taking walks with my family, and listening to music.

  1. Wow, Virginia, congrats! That is so awesome! I just happened to see your tweet (staying up late waiting for Photoshop to complete some looooooong processing) and jumped over to see what you were up to! We need to catch up sometime. I keep hoping Hummie will organize another digigathering. That was so much fun!

Anywho – I can’t wait to see your “after” pics! Have a fabulous weekend!

  2. Crud, just saw the “IF” on your post (blame it on the peach vodka). Anyway, feel free to delete that first comment 🙂

However… you are a beautiful, confident, and brilliant soul who I’ve been blessed to have met in person. We all have areas we wish we could “alter” but our true friends love us for how we look on the inside. We may not be happy with what our children do to our bodies for nine (or 8) months, but the reward is sooo worth it!

    Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Oh to win a free mommy makeover, now that would just rock! I’d have to get a little lipo in the hip/thigh/tummy area and definitely a little tuck (thanks to gaining 57 lbs with my son AND having an emergency c-section)! I work out like a mad woman and even though I lost all my pregnancy weight and my arms and legs are toned, I am just not shaped the same (saggy and flabby in the mid section).

  4. “IF” that biggest little word… a lot of mommys would be happy after what giving birth does to our bodies! But we can dream… sigh… But this much I know, in the eyes of your young children we are the most beautiful Mommys in the world! I never had the courage to ever ask them when they are older, LOL! besides, I am not vain. True beauty comes from within, and you Virginia have it bursting out all over! 🙂

  5. Ok, I GOT the Mommy Makeover – and I will tell you, it was worth every…. single…. penny.

I have 7 years between my daughters, so bouncing back from the first one was a BREEZE. The second one – not so much. I am not sure what happened to my breasts the second go around… or my stomach… but thanks to Dr Butler at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery I look just like I did before!! Hahahaha!

It is true that beauty comes from within, that is why I believe in this surgery. The self esteem and confidence is has given me has given me the courage to let more of my inner beauty show.

  6. I’d have electrolysis. I hate being hairy. Even my toes are hairy.
