Hubs and I have had a massage table on our wish list FOREVER!
I mean, literally, it has been on our wish list since we started creating our wedding registry. And we’ve been married nearly six years!
Dun da da dun…
And now we have one!
The Earthlite Avalon XD Portable Massage Table is made of a premium maple hardwood with Russian birch decking following Earthlite’s tight, eco-friendly manufacturing tolerances, incorporating such features as water-based lacquers and glues, 100% polyurethane vinyl, and CFC-free foam. The patented mid-brace, cradle-lock cabling system, meanwhile, makes the Avalon XD very stable. Best of all, the table’s luxurious yet functional NaturSoft vinyl cover is very smooth to the touch, with a thick, premium-quality 2.75-inch multilayer cushion adding comfort and support during rubdowns.
And boy, is it comfortable!
Other features include: half reiki and half standard end panels that balance stability and client access; Stablefoot traction pads for greater strength; shiatsu release cables; a Flex-Rest adjustable headrest that boasts a form-fit memory cushion; a padded and reinforced armrest sling; and a premium, single-pocket carrying case. The table (which passes the 3,000-pound static load test and 500-pound dynamic load drop test) offers a working maximum weight of 700 pounds. It is also height adjustable (from 23 to 33 inches). It’s is relatively lightweight at 34 pounds, which means I can carry it. When opened, it has a footprint that measures 30 by 73 inches. Best of all, the Avalon XD carries a lifetime warranty on the frame and a three-year warranty on the foam and vinyl.
It’s so purdy! Plus, we got an awesome deal on it!
When folded, it fits neatly behind our closet door.
It couldn’t have come at a better time, because my back is killing me. I don’t know if I did something to anger the nerves in my lower back (I have chronic radiculopathy secondary to degenerative disc disease) or if it’s just Aunt Flo calling way ahead to make her reservation. At any rate, it has been bothering me all day, which I just hate. It hurts to sit, it hurts to stand… Ugh.
So, guess who just got volunteered to GIVE the first massage?
I hear the massage music already…
What? What is that you say? Oh? It’s just a symphony of sound in my mind?
Now we just have to learn the world’s best massage techniques!
