Holidays January 2014

January has several well known holidays, like New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, and the Chinese New Year.  January also proudly boasts some lesser known holidays, observances, and traditions. So that you won’t forget them, I’ve listed a few by day of the month…

    The second week in January is generally recognized as Letter Writing Week.

January is also National Oatmeal Month. National Blood Donor Month, National Hobby Month, National Braille Literacy Month, Hot Tea Month, and National Soup Month.

The January birthstone is Garnet and the January Flower is the Carnation or Snowdrop.

  7. National bubble bath day sound like something to celebrate. I’ll celebrate it as best as I can.. with a wonderful jacuzzi bubble bath. I can feel the relaxation already.

  12. My birthday is at the end of the month and as it turns out, I do love blueberry pancakes. I had no idea of all the stuff that is going on this month!!!! Thanks for sharing. I have to admit I love the bubble bath day and the chocolate covered cherry day.
