Grow Your Own Shrooms!

I cannot tell you how stoked I am about a product that I just received.  I just unpacked a Grow-Your-Own Mushroom Garden from Back to the Roots, available on Foodiacs

I enjoy eating mushrooms.  I especially enjoy eating fresh mushrooms.  I have, however, always been PETRIFIED of mushroom hunting.  What if I pick and eat the wrong thing?  But, with this totally cool kit from Foodiac, I get to grow my own mushrooms without fear of falling over dead.  WOOT!

This kit is so stinking simple to use, too.  I removed the perforated cut-out, misted it with water, and put it on the rack.  Now, you don’t have to use a baking rack, but the easiest spot for me to store the mushrooms is not really conducive to overspray, so I put it on the baking rack and put a cookie sheet under it.

In about ten days, I should have mushrooms.

Yum, yum, pasta!

And, after I’ve eaten those, I can turn the kit over and DO IT AGAIN!

The kit even comes with a recipe card!

Oh yah, and the mushrooms are grown on recycled coffee grounds! Which means, Back to the Roots has diverted 1 MILLION pounds of coffee grounds from the landfill.  That’s a lot of java grounds!

Foodiacs has a Mushrooms for Classrooms special right now, and you can get THREE KITS for just $40!  But hurry, because tomorrow is the last day of the offer.
