My family enjoys watching movies together, and we recently had the opportunity to preview Field of Vision, which will air on Saturday, June 11 on NBC at 8pm ET/7pm CT.
Field of Vision is the newest P&G and Wal-Mart Family Movie Night collaboration.
Synopsis: Through mysterious footage captured on an old malfunctioning video camera, Sinclair High School’s star quarterback, Tyler McFarland, learns that some of his teammates have been bullying Cory Walker, a troubled new transfer student. Aware that sharing this information with the coach might get his friends kicked off the team and ultimately cost the school the state championship, Tyler must choose what’s more important: winning or doing what’s right.

We thoroughly enjoyed the latest installment of Family Movie Night movies from P&G and Wal-Mart, just as we have enjoyed the previous ones. I wasn’t sure how the kidlets would do during the movie, as they generally don’t sit through a movie unless it is animated or kid oriented. However, the inclusion of horses in the movie had Sister practically glued to the screen. She LOVES horses!
I would highly recommend Field of Vision to parents of elementary aged children, pre-teens, and teens, as it includes valuable teaching moments, including what to do about bullying, learning to stand for what you believe in, recognizing your own potential, and pursuing dreams. It also emphasizes the importance of reading. This movie is definitely a great conversation starter!
Be sure to tune in on Saturday, June 11 on NBC at 8pm ET/7pm CT!
You may want to have some questions prepared for your kids ahead of time, as well, to get the conversation flowing and maximize the value of this movie. A few good ones to get you started are:
- What should you do if you witness a kid bullying another kid?
- Would you stand up for a stranger, if it meant your friends would be mad at you?
- Why is it sometimes hard to do the right thing?
- What are the benefits of standing up for what you believe in?
- What are the consequences of standing up for what you believe in?
