Drying Clothes in Singapore

Hubs had to travel to Singapore recently on business.  Among the photos he took while there was this one…

Why, yes.  Yes, those are clothes line poles!  I can only surmise that they must be telescoping, to enable them to hang stuff on the ends of the poles.


Apparently, bamboo poles used to hang clothes out to dry are quite popular, because the cost of electricity is high.  By threading the pole through the sleeves and/or pant legs, the clothing is more secure than if they just used clothes pins.

It certainly is eco-friendly.  I just hope no one hangs their unmentionables out to dry!
