V neck tee and Owl Ring

You may remember the v-neck t-shirt that I ordered from Oasap.com a few months back. I ordered it in black, and absolutely fell in love with it. Here it is with a skirt I also got from Oasap.

I liked the top so much, I decided to get it in green, too, when my Fashion Hunter credits were renewed.

Not the most flattering picture (hence including the one with the black top, which is a much better photo), but you get the point. It’s a cute top, and comfortable, so I got another. The shirt comes in “One Size” which is about a size Large (or 10/12). Of course, I have to pair it with a cami because noone gets to see that much of me.

I also snagged this super cute Owl Ring. The ring also comes in One Size. It fits my pinky, which is what I wanted. It will look cute with an owl necklace I ordered.

WaterField Mini Indy Leather Satchel

I am becoming a bit of a bag fiend. I have quite a few bags now, and Hubs just shakes his head when I get a new one. Shakes his head and walks away. LOL.

Speaking of new bags… my newest one is the Mini Indy Leather Satchel from WaterField Designs. It is designed to fit an iPad mini (or Nexus 7), a wallet, keys, and phone. It is 10″ x 8.25″ x 1″, which is a bit smaller than the Indy, which is 10.3″ x 12″ x 1″ (which fits an iPad or Nexus 10). The Indy and Mini Indy are made of butter-soft, distressed leather that looks well-worn. It has a zippered pocket to keep your wallet and an ultra-suede lined pocket to fit your smart phone. The almost invisible zipper at the top keeps preschool fingers out. It has two pockets in the inside compartment, one to fit your smaller tablet and one for other stuff. It comes in black or brown with a hint of color on the outer pocket trim. Choose from matte black or shiny nickel hardware.

I chose the butter-soft brown leather with a pearl trim on the pocket. I don’t own an iPad mini, but I do own a Kindle Fire, which is approximately the same size. It fits easily in this bag. And when I am not carrying my Kindle Fire, this bag is perfect for a day out.

I can’t stand it when bag straps dig into my shoulder, so I love the sturdy strap with shoulder pad on this bag. It is an attractive bag, and big enough to carry a few light essentials. If it holds up like my other WaterField bags (check out my VertiGo bag review and my Kindle Fire Travel Express Bag review) it has a long life ahead of it. I used my VertiGo bag as a carryon, a day bag, and for a period of time as a diaper bag. LURVE it.

Check Print Skirt and V-Neck Tee from Oasap

Here we are with (yet another) skirt to show off! This check print skirt from Oasap.com is lovely with cream, brown, and black checks with a ruffle tiered layer look. It is ankle length and 100% cotton. It is listed on Oasap.com as “one size” which basically means a size large on this one. I will likely have to add some darts to the waist.

The skirt is a little heavier than most of my skirts, but it has a LOT of fabric to it, as you can see when I pulled it out to the side.

I received a lot of compliments when I wore this skirt with the black v-neck t-shirt, also from Oasap. The t-shirt is also cotton and is designed to have a ruched, or wrinkled, appearance with a knot at the bust. The shirt is also listed as one size, which again means about a size large on this one. The v-neck was too low cut for me, so I paired it with a cream colored cami.

Halftee Review plus Giveaway

Shopping for cute, current, styles that are modest is virtually impossible with the low-cut styles that are all the rage right now. Which is why I love layering. Layering allows me to wear the things I love yet maintain modesty. While I love layering, I do NOT love the bulk (and awful lines) that often go along with it, so I use a lot of cami’s. Cami’s just won’t cut it with some things, though. I was recently looking for an alternative to the cami and came across HalfTee.com.

Halftee’s were designed by Amanda Baker, CEO, after she realized while nursing her third baby that there had to be a better approach to layering. The halftee is designed to fit snugly under the bra line and add the layered look you love without the bulk and warmth of a full top. I have this gorgeous sundress I bought earlier this summer. After I got it home, I realized that it just looked wrong with a cami, and when I tried another top under it, you could see the lines from the other top because of the type of material it is. I thought the 3/4 Halftee would look great with it.

I thought I’d show you where the Halftee falls under the dress, so you could see it in action. It really does fall just below the bust, and the soft banded style hem helps it to stay snugly in place. As you can see, the Halftee is the perfect companion for my dress, and I received quite a few compliments on it when I wore it.

Peony Skirt from Oasap

As I mentioned recently, I have developed a thing for skirts. When I saw this Peony Skirt with mesh hem, from Oasap.com, I JUST HAD TO HAVE IT.

I fell in love with the vibrant colors, and thought it was perfect. Pink, purple, green, royal blue at the waist band. Oh so pretty! While I am certain this one is intended for a younger crowd, as opposed to my later thirties self, I just couldn’t resist it.

I ordered the skirt in an XL because of the measurements listed on it. While I likely could have gotten away with a large in the waistband, it would have been too short for my comfort. As it is, I almost feel nekkid without leggings on under it. LOL.

I washed the skirt in cold water and hung it to dry. It did well through the wash and dried in a flash, since it has the mesh underskirt.

While the mesh underskirt does make it a bit fuller than I am accustomed to (us big girls don’t need any extra inches, if you KWIM), it is such a fun skirt. As I twirled around the living room, showing it off to Hubs, I couldn’t help but sing, “I feel pretty, oh so pretty” in my head.
