Cloth for a Cause

Cloth for a Cause is a cloth diaper lending organization that is fully staffed by unpaid volunteers, primarily servicing Canada but have also extended help to struggling families in the United States.  With the recent economy, donations are down to all charitable organizations and we desperately need help to meet the demand.  We need help with both cash donations and material donations like cloth diapers, KAM snaps, and 1/4 inch swim elastic. Some of our chapters are getting so many applications for assistance that they are unable to keep up with the demand, so diapers are desperately needed… particularly in Nova Scotia. 100% of all cash donations go directly to Cloth for a Cause.

So what does this mean for bloggers?

It means that you can help Cloth for a Cause out by taking place in the Cloth for a Cause Build Your Stash Bash, hosted by Cloth Diaper Addicts, Leettle Baby, and Viva Vel Toro.

Cloth for a Cause Built Your Stash Bash (and Diaper Drive)

It’s going to be huge and amazing. We’ve got some amazing sponsors lined up, including Nicki’s Diapers, Cozy Bums, AppleCheeks, Lagoon Baby, Diapers by Chris, and more! 100% of the funds raised go directly to Cloth for a Cause.

How Do You Get Involved?

We’re looking for bloggers to take part in this event. Bloggers can have up to three links on follow pages, available by donation. The prices are:

  • $3 (1 link, no announcement)
  • $3 (2 links, announcement post)
  • $5 (2 links, no announcement)
  • $5 (3 links, announement post)
  • $7 (3 links, no announcement post)

Of course, if you’d like to donate more, you’re welcome to! We also would love it if you’d repost this announcement, regardless of your donation amount. Please take the image from above and load it on your site to publicize. We want the Build Your Stash Bash (and diaper drive) to be a success. All you need to do is sign up and join a Facebook group to be kept up to date with the event.

FTC Guidelines for Bloggers

What Does This New Pink Button Mean?

^^^Hey, what’s that?^^^

Because we obviously don’t have enough things to do in a day, the FTC has updated their disclosure guidelines for bloggers. As you know, I have a disclosure page and I disclose at the end of each post any material connection to products/services mentioned on this site.  Apparently, that’s not enough, because by the time you get to the end of a post, you may have already clicked on a link.  Now I have to put it up top.

FTC Logo

Can we say overkill?

Here are the buttons you might see up there…

Press SampleSponsored ContentI bought it!<–JK

And here’s what they mean…

Press Sample<–Acceptance of Free Products, Services, etc.

I received free products, services, tickets, invitations, etc, from a company, organization or individual in consideration for review publication.  I am not required to publish a positive review, and all opinions stated are my own.

Sponsored Content<–Advertising

I was paid, whether directly or indirectly, for content.  Where no opinion is stated, it is purely advertorial in nature.  Where an opinion is stated, it is 100% my own- whether good, bad, or ugly.

May Contain Affiliate Links<–Affiliate Links

I use affiliate links every chance I get. These links allow me to earn credit or a portion of the proceeds for any sale or action converted when readers (i.e. you) click on them.  You can bet if there’s a link to Amazon it is an affiliate link! While I do occasionally manually insert affiliate links, it is typically done automatically through an ad service that passes all links on my site through a third party filter to check if the site being linked to has an affiliate program.  If so, I will be credited for any sales generated through that link and will receive a portion of the proceeds. The page that is displayed, after being redirected through the filter, will be the page that was initially linked to. At no time is a link redirected to any page other than the one that was originally linked to.  Because I use services that automatically create affiliate links, I may not always be aware of their inclusion, so you will see this May Contain Affiliate Links at the end of each post.

I’ll Always Be Honest

When I state my opinion on a product or service, it it just that, my opinion.  While the space on my site may be monetized, my opinion cannot be bought or sold.  I will never intentionally endorse a product/service that I cannot stand behind.  My site is a family friendly site, and all products/services on my site are screened with that in mind.

I appreciate you, thanks for stopping by, and thanks for coming back!

For those of you that are also bloggers, I used this button generator and the Easy Shortcode Buttons Plugin to create, customize, and install my buttons.

I Love Fairy Dust

When we did our recent kitchen reno, we had plenty of opportunity to shop for home appliances.  We decided to keep our old refrigerator and dishwasher to save money, but replaced our countertop microwave with an above the stove model, which is really nice.

My daughter, who loves all things fairy, insists that tiny fairies live inside the microwave and sprinkle “fairy dust” on our food to warm it up.  One of these days I will have to explain it to her, but for now, I have to say, I love her imagination.

And right now, I am really loving fairy dust!

Fairy Hobmother

I was just visited by the Fairy Hobmother.  The Fairy Hobmother is a fine fairy fellow who visits bloggers in the blogosphere spreading fairy dust (i.e. Amazon giftcards) and smiles wherever he lands.  If you are a blogger, leave a comment with a link to your site, and he just may fly on over.

Thanks, Fairy Hobmother!  With a new baby on the way, we appreciate all the fairy dust we can get!
