As you know, I decided NOT to apply to the last Mamavation campaign. After praying about it, I thought it might pose a conflict of interest, since I was working on the Total Gym Total Mom challenge, and I thought it would be best to wait for the next campaign.
Campaign 10 is upon us.
But, there’s a twist this time. It’s a couples campaign. Yep, that means Hubs has to be on board.
We will be working on our video application this weekend.
So, why would I apply for another fitness campaign when I just finished one? Because my fitness quest is not over! I still have weight to lose. I’ve lost 61.5 pounds to date, but my goal is 80! I can firm and tone. I NEED it. And because this campaign, Hubs can join me, and we can work together toward our common goal of a healthy family.
Anyway, on to the Mamavation blogging carnival question for the week…
Q. What safety precautions do you take with your workouts? Any special equipment when working out outdoors?
Okay, first on safety precautions… of course I always follow manufacturer guidelines with workout equipment (i.e. elliptical, Total Gym, etc). I also use a heart rate monitor during workouts, so I know when I am pushing my heart too hard. I keep my cell phone with me during workouts, in the event that I need to call for help I can.
As for special equipment used when workout out outdoors… I have my Camelbak that I use if going on longer walks/jogs/etc. I also have a MistyMate that I use for things around the yard. We have a basketball hoop in our drive, so I shoot hoops out there. But mostly, my outdoor workouts consist of chasing my kids as they ride their bikes up and down the street. Try keeping up with the two of them… it is a workout!
That being said, keep an eye out for our Mamavation Campaign 10 application video. This is going to be so much FUN!
