Bye-Bye GFC

One of the many changes that Google is making for the New Year is the x-nay’ing of the Google Friend Connect widget for all non-Blogger sites on March 1, 2012.

I know, right?   Of course, after owning my self hosted WP site for several years, I wouldn’t dream of going back to blogger, so I am taking the GFC widget down.

Hot French fries, anyone?

I follow, and READ, a lot of blogs through GFC.  Now I am going through and trying to add those blogs to my Google+ circles, because I want to continue to enjoy them.

Speaking of enjoyment… I have really enjoyed building the relationships that I have with my readers here at That Bald Chick, and I don’t want that to get x’nayed with the GFC widget.

With that being said, if you currently follow TBC via GFC, please consider adding me to your circles on Google+.

While you’re at it, grab some Hot French Fries and continue our conversation!

Those of you that know me well, know why I chose fries.

For those of you who may not know why I chose fries, imagine the pain of a hot salted fry when deftly applied to the eye of the big G.

I’m adding extra salt to mine.

About Virginia

Hi there! My name is Virginia, and I am the author/owner of That Bald Chick. I am a Christian, wife, mother of three, full time homemaker, homeschooler, and ministry volunteer in addition to being a blogger. In my free time *cough* I enjoy reading, writing, taking walks with my family, and listening to music.

  1. LOL I saw the french fries and about spit my drink everywhere! So appropriate!

  2. I love you….you make me smile…and laugh…all the time!

  4. I don’t care if the widget will be disappearing necessarily, but all those subscriptions just go poof?

  5. What does happen to all the subscriptions? Do we need to go through GFC and delete some if alot are moving to G+? (which I have yet to take the time to learn) 🙂

  6. Personally, I think this is silly on their part since so many people use GFC to follow their favorite blogs.
