Blueberry Diapers

Press Sample

If you have been around the cloth diaper block for long at all, you’ve heard of the Swaddlebees and Blueberry brands.  Blueberry (i.e. Swaddlebees) recently sent me a Newborn Fitted Diaper and diaper cover for review.

The newborn fitted diaper is made with two full layers of 100% organic cotton velour. It is SO soft to touch.  It also has a hidden layer of hemp/organic cotton french terry for added absorbency, as well as an attached quick-dry soaker made with one layer of hemp french terry topped with organic cotton velour. It has an umbilical snap down for the new babies.  It is sized to fit 5-16 pounds (if your baby has skinny legs). Newborn Fitted Diaper

The newborn fitted diaper is not waterproof and does require a cover.  That being said, the fit is great and when baby had a BM, there were no blowouts.

Blueberry sent me the Capri cover in Tweet.  The Capri diaper covers are waterproof, reusable, and SIMPLE to use.  They have true leg gussets.  They are available with hook and loop closure or snaps.  I chose snaps.

SO cute, right?

Did you know that the Blueberry and Swaddlebees brands are being merged into one brand, and will just be Blueberry.  The Swaddlebees brand name is being retired.  Why, you ask?  logo-blueberriesSwaddlebees and Blueberry are made by the same folks.  When the lines were originally started, the distinction between the two was clear— Swaddlebees was made with organic or natural fibers (i.e. cotton, organic cotton, hemp) and Blueberry was all synthetics.  As time went by, and diaper styles changed, the distinction between the two brands has changed and the two are almost identical. This was confusing for customers, who often asked, “What makes Swaddlebees different from Blueberry?” It’s a question I’ve asked as a new cloth diapering Mom!

What this means is that all products currently under the Swaddlebees brand, will now be under Blueberry. So with the Swaddlebees Simplex, it will now be labeled Blueberry Simplex. Swaddlebees Econappi diapers will now be Blueberry Econappi, etc, etc, etc.

Here’s the great news… NO PRODUCTS ARE BEING DISCONTINUED.  Yay!

  1. I haven’t tried blueberry, but would love to and OMG so little she still has her umbilical cord!!! So adorable!!

  2. Kristen Dant says:

I didn’t use blueberry products on my newborn, but have used the coveralls ( favorite for nighttime over a fitted) and simplex on him since about 3 months, and LOVE them. whenever we have #3 I think I’ll have to try the newborn diapers. love blueberry!

  3. Lissa E. says:

I love the Blueberry prints, especially the Messy Hands! I’ve heard really great things about their diapers and would love to try one.

  4. Love that the Capri covers fit at such a small size!

  5. Amanda Bolduc says:

I really want to try one of these. LOVE the cow print!

  6. Sara Johnson says:

I’ve heard great things about these diapers and would love to try some of them. The new monster prints are so cute!

  7. Mary Schuh says:

I did not know that Blueberry and Swaddlebees are being merged! Thanks for the information! I do love our Swaddlebees Simplex 2.0 in Dino print. We’re slowly making the transition from microfiber to all natural fibers. I will definitely look into Blueberry Newborn fitteds (Loooove fitteds! We just got the Sb’ish Chevron OBF) when we have Baby 2.0. 🙂

  8. I am excited to try these. I love the grey and green bird print cover. I’m trying to stock up on covers now and these are adorable.

  9. Vanessa Coker says:

I am in love with the fit of these diapers in a new baby! Definitely going to get a set for my new baby due later this year 🙂

  10. What’s not to love? It looks so soft, and I will only buy double gussets any more after some mishaps with my daughter. Also, your babe’s bellybutton… could it be any more perfect?

  11. Lauren Powell says:

Blueberry is another brand I fully intend on adding to my stash. I love the leg gussets and I adore their patterns on all their diaper covers!

  12. I have two Simplex 2.0 and they JUST started to fit my 13.5 months old. She has skinny thighs, and the side-snaps weren’t tight enough, on the smallest setting. I have a blueberry cover that I use for nights over fitteds, and I like the pattern, but it’s not the best fitting of the covers I have. I always have to readjust the legs to make sure that there are no gaps. The newborn fitteds, though…look so lovely. Maybe if I have another baby…

  13. Rachel A. says:

I had no idea they were the same company! Good to know and good to know nothing is being discontinued! Glad the newborn fit is so good. I’ll be looking for those in a few years with my next babe. We didn’t cloth diaper this one until he was 4 months, but I plan to with my next newborn! Thanks!

  14. Bekah Kuczenski says:

The NB fitted looks so soft and looks like it fits perfectly as does the cover! I am due shortly and I would love to try these!!

  15. That fitted diaper looks so soft and comfortable for a new baby.

  16. Yes, that cover is DEFINITELY cute! I’d love to try this brand!

  17. I used some of this exact combination for my newborn. They do work very well. I find that they don’t fit my kiddos nearly to the weight max. But they do fit great until they are ready for my one-size diapers.

  18. That fitted is so squishy and precious!! I love Blueberry products! My new favorite are the Simplex 2.0 mediums. They are almost as trim as a disposable on my girl . . . totally drooling for more!
