Blueberry Diapers

If you have been around the cloth diaper block for long at all, you’ve heard of the Swaddlebees and Blueberry brands.  Blueberry (i.e. Swaddlebees) recently sent me a Newborn Fitted Diaper and diaper cover for review.

The newborn fitted diaper is made with two full layers of 100% organic cotton velour. It is SO soft to touch.  It also has a hidden layer of hemp/organic cotton french terry for added absorbency, as well as an attached quick-dry soaker made with one layer of hemp french terry topped with organic cotton velour. It has an umbilical snap down for the new babies.  It is sized to fit 5-16 pounds (if your baby has skinny legs). Newborn Fitted Diaper

The newborn fitted diaper is not waterproof and does require a cover.  That being said, the fit is great and when baby had a BM, there were no blowouts.

Blueberry sent me the Capri cover in Tweet.  The Capri diaper covers are waterproof, reusable, and SIMPLE to use.  They have true leg gussets.  They are available with hook and loop closure or snaps.  I chose snaps.

SO cute, right?

Did you know that the Blueberry and Swaddlebees brands are being merged into one brand, and will just be Blueberry.  The Swaddlebees brand name is being retired.  Why, you ask?  logo-blueberriesSwaddlebees and Blueberry are made by the same folks.  When the lines were originally started, the distinction between the two was clear— Swaddlebees was made with organic or natural fibers (i.e. cotton, organic cotton, hemp) and Blueberry was all synthetics.  As time went by, and diaper styles changed, the distinction between the two brands has changed and the two are almost identical. This was confusing for customers, who often asked, “What makes Swaddlebees different from Blueberry?” It’s a question I’ve asked as a new cloth diapering Mom!

What this means is that all products currently under the Swaddlebees brand, will now be under Blueberry. So with the Swaddlebees Simplex, it will now be labeled Blueberry Simplex. Swaddlebees Econappi diapers will now be Blueberry Econappi, etc, etc, etc.

Here’s the great news… NO PRODUCTS ARE BEING DISCONTINUED.  Yay!
