My Little Pony Party- Blue Sky Fruit Dip #partyfood

As I mentioned yesterday in my My Little Pony Party- Invitations and Banner post, Sister’s birthday party was a rainbow colored My Little Pony party.   I made my favorite fruit dip for the party.  It is super simple to make, requires very few ingredients, and can be colored to fit any party theme.  I colored ours blue and called it Blue Sky Fruit Dip.

Blue Sky Fruit Dip Ingredients

It is just marshmallow crème, cream cheese, and your choice of coloring agent. I used Wilton Concentrated Icing Gel.

In a medium bowl, with a mixer set on low, combine one softened brick (8 ounces) of cream cheese with one 7 ounce jar of marshmallow crème until thoroughly blended.  Use your choice of coloring agent to color the fruit dip according to your party theme.

Blue Sky Fruit Dip

The Blue Sky color was perfect for our Taste the Rainbow fruit bar, which included mini-marshmallows (for the clouds), strawberries- left the tops on them, Halo oranges (which I peeled and segmented myself), pineapple (Dole Pineapple Chunks in the jar), kiwi (which I peeled and sliced myself), blueberries, and purple grapes.

I put the fruit into individual bowls, which I picked up at Dollar Tree, and put them in an arc on the counter, then put the fruit dip under the rainbow.  It turned out beautifully, and was really quite a hit with our party goers.

More coming tomorrow on the party.
