All About Me Meme- Day 21

Okay, a little late with Day 21… a recipe. I had a recipe in mind that I wanted to share, but try as I might, I could not find it.

So, I am going to share an old favorite of mine.

Meatloaf

*Preheat oven to 350ºF

2 pounds lean ground meat (turkey, beef, venison)
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup milk
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/4- 1/2 cup bacon crumbles

Combine first five ingredients and pack into a lightly greased loaf pan. Top loaf with bacon crumbles. Bake at 350ºF for 1 hour or until juices run clear.

We use venison in our meatloaf, and typically do 1 pound ground venison burger with 1 pound ground venison breakfast sausage. Because the breakfast sausage has spices in it, you may find that you need to add some spices to keep your meatloaf from being bland.
