Families from coast-to-coast will come along on a breathtaking and uplifting wilderness adventure when Anchor Bay Entertainment unleashes Against the Wild on DVD and digital against the wild dvd coverdownload for the first time. Written and directed by Richard Boddington, starring CJ Adams (The Odd Life of Timothy GreenDan in Real Life), Erin Pitt (Silent Hill: Revelation 3DCamp Rock 2: The Final Jam and the upcoming American Girl: Isabelle Dances into the Spotlight) and Natasha Henstridge (“She Spies,” The Whole Nine Yards) and co-starring John Tench (Tooth Fairy), the film made its national retail and digital debut on March 11, 2014.

Against the Wild is an exciting, fast-paced family adventure with beautiful cinematography and a stirring musical score performed by a live 65-piece orchestra in Prague.  The action-packed feature film tells the dramatic tale of two siblings and their Alaskan Malamute, who must make an emergency landing when their small plane has engine problems. They find themselves in a beautiful but potentially dangerous natural environment that they must overcome together.

Synopsis

Against the Wild tells the tale of a boy named Zach and his sister Hannah along with their Alaskan Malamute, Chinook on an adventure to stay alive. While traveling on a small plane to visit their dad, they are faced with a crash landing which leaves the pilot unconscious. If that wasn’t bad enough they are now in the woods facing many obstacles to stay alive.

Zach has had some Cub Scout training and puts it to good use during their time in the woods. The family has had their fair share of differences in the past; their recently separated parents must quickly learn to once again put trust into one another and join forces in order to ensure the safe return of their children. Zach and Hannah must join forces to brave various unforgiving elements; including, raging waters, an angry bear and even a forest fire!

My  Thoughts

Lessons of working together and putting aside your differences are sprinkled throughout this movie along with beautiful scenes and gripping music. Against the Wild is guaranteed to leave you on the edge of your seat wandering what will happen next. It is truly a wholesome movie, the whole family can enjoy. If your family happens to be an animal lover as ours you will especially be entertained.  There are a couple of scenes that may be scary for younger children, one involves a bear chasing the children. If you are planning a family movie night I would highly recommend giving Against the Wild a try!

About Lindsay Taylor

A little about me:

I have shared the past 4 years with a wonderful man, my soul mate, who surprised me with a beautiful engagement this Christmas Eve. We have an amazing 21 month old little girl and will be welcoming a little boy at the end of February :). We share a great passion for animals, even having our own "zoo" at home...4 cats (1 completely blind), 1 dog, a turtle and various fish :) My fiancé is a Dog Trainer at our local no-kill shelter, and I work as a Volunteer Coordinator at the same facility a couple of days a week. :)

I am a country girl at heart and nothing makes me happier than being a mom!
