I didn’t ASK for a Facebook email account, but apparently, the powers that be felt I needed one AND felt it should be displayed on my Facebook contact page… instead of the email that I had previously chosen.
Apparently, I’ve had this Facebook email address for a while, but since I had already determined my email settings, I never paid it any attention. Until suddenly, it’s my default address. WHAT? I didn’t ask it to do that! For some strange reason, these addresses were made to become default on many (if not all) Facebook users profiles.
Thumbs down.
If you ask me, I think Mark Zuckerberg and his cronies are getting too big for their britches, changing peoples email settings and all. It isn’t polite to mess with peoples profile settings!!!
Fortunately, fixing it is as simple as going into my “About” page on my profile and scrolling down to my email address. Then I clicked “Edit” to change them. I found the circle next to my Facebook email and changed the setting to “Hidden from Timeline.” Next I clicked the one that I wanted to be shown as my primary email, and clicked the button to change the setting to “Shown on Timeline.” After that, I hit the save button, and whalla… my email settings were back to the way I WANTED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Be sure to check yours, because the emails that go to your Facebook email address will end up in your messages box, rather than in your email box where you want them!
Grrr.
I think someone should stage a Facebook Coup.

I was SO annoyed when I saw this on Facebook. Usually, I think people blow things out of proportion when it comes to Facebook, but this time it was really pushing it. To go from showing my three email addresses that I want shown to the ONE that I don’t because I would never see the messages is simply intrusive.
