Small Talk Six July 17

I missed an entire MONTH of Small Talk Six.  With Brian traveling, me traveling, two weddings, a family reunion, and a surgical procedure, it is no wonder.  But, man, I missed an entire MONTH!

Okay, back on track….

Small Talk Six at MomDot is a weekly Meme with a different topic.  You can learn more about the Meme and the list of topics for Small Talk Six 2010 by going here.

The rules are:

Grab a Small Talk Six button for your post and sidebar.  Then post on your blog your response to the assigned topic of the week.  Your response can be as brief or elaborate as you wish, but must be in 6, i.e. a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, or 6 photos, etc…

Today’s topic is “6 children’s books you love to read out loud.”

  1. My Grandma Lived in Gooligulch My Grandma Lived in Gooligulch has been a favorite of mine since it was first published in 1990!
  2. And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street (Classic Seuss) Of course, I loved Dr. Seuss growing up, so my kids have the entire Seuss library.
  3. If Jesus Lived Inside My Heart My kids have a whole set of board books about Jesus from Candy Cane Press that they just love.
  4. Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! The Pigeon books, by Mo Willems, are my new favorite series.
  5. Slowly, Slowly, Slowly, said the Sloth Eric Carle’s books are masterpieces of artwork and storytelling.
  6. If You Give a Pig a Pancake I fell in love with Laura Numeroff’s books the first time I read them!

Can you tell I have toddlers?  LOL.  You can click on the book titles to go to Amazon (yes, I used my affiliate links) to learn more about the one’s I’ve listed.

How about you?  What are your favorite books to read aloud?

Be blessed,

Virginia

7 link challenge

While visiting of of my favorite fellow mom blogger’s, Annie of Mama Dweeb (and entering the Chicago Baby & Toddler Expo contest), I saw that she is celebrating her blogiversary and she posted about the Pro-blogger 7-link challenge to celebrate.   I know Annie would love it if you dropped by to wish her a happy blogiversary!

The Pro-blogger challenge idea was to publish a post that is a list of 7 links to posts that you and others have written that respond to the following 7 categories. Your links should be to:

  • Your first post
  • A post you enjoyed writing the most
  • A post which had a great discussion
  • A post on someone else’s blog that you wish you’d written
  • Your most helpful post
  • A post with a title that you are proud of
  • A post that you wish more people had read

So, here goes…

TerriAnn, from Cookies and Clogs, is another mom blogger that is playing along as well and has linked to a FABULOUS post on homeschooling that I keep in my bookmarks.

How about you?  Are you participating in the Pro-blogger 7-link challenge?

Be blessed,

Virginia
