Have you ever stopped and looked at your life and thought, “Why haven’t I…” or “I thought I would have… by now?” 

I have. 

Mind you, most of the things I thought I wanted to accomplish by this point in my life I have done.  I used to carry a little card in my wallet that had my 10 year “life goals” on it.  The list was written in 1999, and I am extremely blessed in that the majority of the things on my list have been checked. 

They included:

Get married.  Check.

Have or adopt at least two children.  Check.

Finish a Bachelor’s Degree in something.  Check.  (BTW, it’s in Christian Ministries)

Have at least one poem published.  Check.

Get Thornville series published (a series of children’s stories that I wrote).  Not checked.

Write a book and get it published.  Not checked.

A few months ago, I was externally processing (i.e. talking things out) and told my husband that I wanted to dust off the Thornville series and see what I needed to do in order to work toward publication.  I also told him some of my ideas for a book that I would like to write. 

A couple of weeks ago, my husband asked me what I had done toward accomplishing these goals.  The sad answer?  Nothing.

Which is why I wanted to review the book Achieve Anything in Just One Year by Jason Harvey. 

Jason Harvey is an author, entrepreneur, and life coach.  His book is said to help you…

• Feel happier everyday!!!
• Overcome procrastination.
• Set goals and stick with them.
• Stay motivated, focused and balanced.
• Find out what you really want from life.
• Take daily action that creates a ripple effect.
• Define, pursue and celebrate personal success.

I know that somewhere in the midst of living, I lost my wallet card list and with it, sight of my goals in writing.  I also somehow forgot the importance of WRITING DOWN MY GOALS, reviewing my goals, and adjusting my goals.  This book has reminded me of that. 

How I rate it: 

I give Achieve Anything in Just One Year a healthy 5 out of 5 hearts.

What I love…

I love that the book is broken down into daily pieces.  Each day contains an inspirational quote and motivational writing.  Each day also has an “assignment” to get you on the road to achieving your goals.  The assignments can easily be accomplished in one day.  Add all of those “one day” accomplishments together, and in a year, it is bound to be remarkable.  The thing that is awesome about this book, is that the goals and dreams it helps you define are YOURS.  They may be simple (i.e. I want to sew drapes for my living room) or they may be grand (i.e. I want to write a book) but they WILL be yours.

What I would change…

I wouldn’t change anything, but since this is the last self improvement book I may ever need, poor Jason may have written himself out of a second best seller.

Aside from my Bible, this may be the only book that I read every day this year.  In fact, I am keeping the two together, along with my new notebook, so that each keeps me accountable to the other.

What I love…

I love that Cheribundi is made from fresh cherries, not from concentrate.  I also appreciate the short list of ingredients in Cheribundi (cherry juice, water, apple juice—as a sweetener).   The Cheribundi packs a powerful punch in flavor.  It is tart, yet sweet.  I enjoyed one bottle and started another, but didn’t get to finish it because my kids discovered it.  They finished the four pack and really liked it.

What I would change…

There are no retailers within 250 miles of my home, which means if I were to purchase it, I would have to do mail-order.   When I want juice, I want to be able to drive to my local grocer and get it.

My son, Mister, is a huge Elmo fan.  He has an Elmo tool bench, Elmo tools, Elmo guitar, Elmo chair, etc, etc, etc.  So, needless to say, I was thrilled when I received the opportunity to review Elmo’s newest DVD, The Best of Elmo 2 on DVD, which is set for release on May 4, 2010 for $14.98 SRP.  I knew that it would make Mister’s day to have a new Elmo DVD.

Mister loves this DVD.  He gets out his First Act guitar and strums along with the music.  Since he is learning how to count and his ABC’s, I love the reinforcement the DVD offers.  I also love that David Beckham gives a little lesson on persistence. 

What I would change…

Absolutely nothing.  It isn’t often that I can stand watching the same DVD several times in a row, but this one is an exception.
