Thankful Thursday #3

Do you like Veggie Tales?  I thoroughly enjoy Veggie Tales

In fact, I have been enjoying Veggie Tales since LONG before I had children.

Why, when I lived in the Chicago area (2000-2004) I even hosted a Veggie Tales Marathon for our then Singles group.  We served veggies and watched all of the videos that had been released up to that point.

At the time, I worked the day shift (0600-1430) as an RN in a rehab facility, and I would start each morning by pushing my medicine cart down the hall singing, “Good Morning, George, how are you… I hope you’re feeling fine… I’d love to stay and talk, but it’s almost eight o’clock and I haven’t got the time…”

Yah, a few of my patients were irritated, but most of them loved being serenaded by the “pill lady.”

I recently received a Veggie Tales video free from Big Idea Production through a promotion they were having.  I chose The Ballad of Little Joe because I didn’t recall having seen it.

My kids absolutely love it.  And I just ADORE the "Belly Button Song" with Boyz in the Sink.

My favorite VT ever is still Rack, Shack, and Benny.  It is just too funny.  But the best Silly Song ever is “The Hairbrush Song.”

Anyway, all of this to say, I am so glad that Veggie Tales are still around and that my kids can enjoy them as much as I enjoyed them (when I was a slightly older, somewhat lively young twenty).

I thank God that there are still a few companies around that CARE and that promote moral values.

To put it in the words of a very cute tomato and very precocious pickle… ahem, cucumber…

I thank God for this day,
For the sun in the sky,
For my mom and my dad,
For my piece of apple pie!
For our home on the ground,
For His love that’s all around,
That’s why I say thanks every day!
Because a thankful heart is a happy heart!
I’m glad for what I have,
That’s an easy way to start!
For the love that He shares,
‘Cause He listens to my prayers,
That’s why I say thanks every day!

If you haven’t checked out the latest from Veggie Tales, they have a new video that was released in February, Pistachio: The Little Boy that Woodn’t.  I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy and see what the Silly Song is.

In the meantime, I thank God for Veggie Tales, for my children who give me a GOOD excuse to watch Veggie Tales again, and for my dear husband, who puts up with me when I watch Veggie Tales

Be blessed,

Virginia

Review: Stray Path Designs Bracelet

Remember my prior post on Pop Top Bracelets by StrayPathDesigns on Etsy, when I mentioned that I ordered one in green and black?

Well, I had also entered a drawing for one of Carrie’s bracelets over at Amelie Jo’s blog.

Because I won the giveaway at Amelie Jo’s, Carrie (StrayPathDesigns) sent both of my bracelets together.

They arrived beautifully packaged and ready for gift-giving.

Okay, I admit it, I was so excited about getting the beaded bracelet that I ripped the ribbon off before I took a picture, so I had to retie it.  Carrie did a much better job of tying it than I did!

This is the Pop Tab bracelet I ordered…

and this is the beaded bracelet I won…

The Pop Tab bracelet is really cute.  I love that she included instructions on how to shorten the bracelet if needed. The green was perfect for St. Patty’s day and helped me avoid being pinched.

The only draw back to the Pop Tab bracelet is that I fairly stink at tying slip knots (yes, and pretty bows), so I had to have help from my hubby on pulling the strings to make it tighter.

The beaded bracelet is absolutely perfect!

It is a little big for her now, but Sister just loved it.  She did not, however, love it when I hd to take it away from her.  LOL.

StrayPathDesigns has many unique beaded crochet bracelets, in fabulous color combos.  Here are a few of my favorites…
