It’s been a long time since I scrapped a page about myself, so when I saw the “What’s in a Name Challenge” over at The Daily Digi, I just had to do one for my birthday. 

This picture was taken when I was four and a half months old. 

Journaling reads: “My Grandpa Paul had called me Mary for as long as I could remember.  I wouldn’t have minded, except that my name isn’t Mary.  One day, when I was about ten years old, I asked him in exasperation, “Grandpa, do you even know my name?”  “Well, sure,” he said, “Your name is Virginia.”  “Then why do you always call me Mary?” I asked.  He smiled, and replied, “Because, sweetheart, you look just like my mother.”  I didn’t mind being called Mary so much after that, but Grandpa made it a point to call me by my name.”

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I posted one of my ABC photos and templates… I have C completed, here it is…

This was one of Zane’s one month portraits, taken by Wells Family Photography.  Zane had colic, and cried a lot.  My cousin Oscar and his wife, Heather, have cry-face pictures of their son hanging in their living room.  Lucky (Oscar’s boy) does well for a period during photo shoots, but then has a melt down, and Heather has the photographer just keep snapping.  I love the pictures of Lucky, so when Zane started having his Colic melt-down, I asked the photographer to keep snapping pictures for a minute while I got his bottle.  While it isn’t the one that made it into the blown up wall size portrait, it turned out to be one of my favorites!

As I have mentioned previously,  my husband and I are in the process of adopting a new baby.  The new baby is due anytime, and we do not know the gender of the baby.  So, we (by we, I mean my husband and I) decided to wait until the baby is born to decorate his or her room. 

We (by we, I mean I) decided on a color palette for a boy room and a girl room.  This is the boy color palette.

I used the boy color palette to create a new kit, that I will use to decorate *his* room with, if it is a boy.   My new kit is Alan, which is what we will name the baby if it is a boy.
