A few layouts

One of the designers at Pretty Scrappy, 88 Designs by M, is working on a set of templates and asked me to give them a whirl.  Perfect excuse to get some scrapping done!  LOL.

Here they are:

High chair seat belts are for sissy’s… or so it would seem Mister thinks they are.  He just thought it was hilarious that he could get turned all the way around in his high chair booster.

Journaling reads, "Just Like Daddy.  Grandma says that Daddy never went past a knob without turning it or a handle without lifting it.  If it moved, he just had to touch it.  It would seem that is where I got my fascination with things that move from.  September 2008."

I think the templates worked out great!

Adoption Update

As I may have mentioned, in another post, my husband and I want to adopt our second child.  We sent off our adoption application to Lutheran in the end of July.  Well… we’ve been matched.  Yeah, I know, it just doesn’t happen that quickly.  But, oh my, God is Good!  As it turns out, we have a family member that is expecting and unable to keep the child.  So, we’ve been asked to consider adopting the baby.  After much prayer, and seeking wise counsel from trusted friends, we have agreed.  The baby is due sometime in March.  So, our adoption paperwork just got kicked into HIGH GEAR!

We are so excited!

And we have so much to do!

We have to write our autobiographies for the adoption home study.  That is tough.  Summing up our relationships with parents/siblings/neighbors in a few paragraphs is a daunting task!

We went and had our physicals and lab work drawn for the home study.  We have to go back tomorrow to get our TB skin tests and then on Thursday to have them read.  My husband hates needles, but is handling all of this remarkably well!

We have decided on the first name for either a boy or girl.  The middle names for a girl are also decided.  But, the middle names for a boy are still in progress.  We have some ideas, just nothing set in stone yet.

In honor or our little bundle that is on it’s way, I thought that I would offer this freebie: lvd_adoption_wordart001web

The actual file has a transparent background, it is a PNG.

You can snag it here.

Scrap Your Faith Challenge

I’ve decided to do things just a little differently with the Scrap Your Faith challenge… Instead of requiring you to use elements in a layout, I am going to give you a faith related quote (may be from the Bible, a well known speaker, etc) and you have to use that in your layout somehow.
The quote for this month is from the Bible, and can be found in 1 Thessalonians 5:18–
from the NIV Bible…
"give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
or the KJV Bible…
"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
To qualify for the bonus, you must use the quote in a layout in one of the following ways…
1. In a Scrap Layout (with pictures, etc)
2. In a Card Front layout (i.e. Thanksgiving card, etc, etc)
Then, post your results in the Scrap Your Faith Challenge portion of the forum at Pretty Scrappy, and I will give you this posting bonus…

The bonus contains 1 paper, 1 grosgrain ribbon, 1 tagged ribbon, 1 chipboard flower tag, 1 cardboard frame, and 1 embellished flower.
If you would like to share your results with others (i.e. quickpage, cardfront), you may also post your download links in the forum.

Here is how I used the verse:

The card front is 7×5 at 300ppi.  You can snag it in the forum.

This challenge will run through 09/30/08.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
